Astro Originals Unveils Bold New Series ‘Project; Exit’

Following last year's groundbreaking success, Astro Originals is back with ‘Project; Exit’, a daring series that pushes the boundaries of local entertainment. Produced by Astro Shaw, this gripping series follows four teenagers plotting their escape from a rehabilitation centre. Premiering on 1 November 2024 at 9 PM on Astro Premier (channel 110) and Astro Citra (channel 108), ‘Project; Exit’ promises an intense viewing experience.
 

Highlighting Mental Health Issues Among Malaysian Youth
 

‘Project; Exit’ delves into the lives of teenagers in a rehabilitation centre, grappling with various issues, especially the increasingly alarming concern of mental health in Malaysia. The World Health Organization (WHO) 2023 report reveals that 1 in 4 Malaysian youths suffer from depression, and 1 in 10 has attempted suicide, with teenage girls being the most affected.
 

A Story of Hope and Resilience
 

Part of the acclaimed "Project Universe", ‘Project; Exit’ follows the story of four teenagers as they plan to escape a mentally oppressive environment. Despite their personal traumas, they cling to hope, confronting their inner fears, forging unexpected alliances with fellow inmates, and facing numerous challenges in their quest for freedom. The series is filled with emotional moments and betrayals, making it a compelling watch.

The Journey of Jannah and Her Friends
 

The 6-episode series centers on Jannah, a 16-year-old who, after a failed suicide attempt, is sent to the INSAN rehabilitation centre. There, she discovers her late father’s cryptic diary, which reveals secrets about the facility, and ways to escape the place from its vigilant staff with their strict rules. She teams up with Hadi, a 17-year-old with Cystic fibrosis, and two other friends, Ucop and Amy, who conspire to escape together, inspired by Jannah’s late father’s past attempts.
